Boys In Heels RSA is a partnership with AllDae Network where a unique reality show that shows the transition and growth in three of South Africa’s ‘Gay’ men. It share’s their life story and the journey that they take on, including raw moments of joy and conflict. Boys in Heels is a reality show, focused and centered around the lives of the 3 main characters. Namely: Lebo Molax – (Molebogeng George Molaolwa), Jayluxe – (Jerome Pietersen) and Lordé Hedgeous – (Salmon Booysen).
Boys in Heels comprises of 3 Gay individuals, all educated, hard workers with a passion for entertainment and dancing also the group has a huge social media following. The show will follow their lives, it will be drama filled and will venture into their personal spaces and follow them as they perform and engage with their fans. The show will evolve into deeper, more intrinsic conversations and topics regarding race, homosexuality and homophobia, dreams and the likes.
Insights and Execution
Voo C Media Group created a Pilot for the show which involved, he pilot episode introduces us to all 3 characters as they have dinner at Lebo Molax’s place and converse about their dance routine and gossip in-between. Lebo Molax is a 28 year old qualified Hydrogeologist and a founder of BoysInHeelsRSA. Jayluxe is 29 year old qualified Nurse with aspirations of becoming a lawyer. Lordé Hedgeous is a 27 year old manager at a Lounge in Bloemfontien.
Our crew worked on the pilot for three days in Bloemfontien and they juggled the Cast schedules. They had to meet with the trio, understand get to more of them to know how to work through the pilot, concept creation, look and feel and get the. Pre- Production, Production, Post Production meetings, paper work took place with the directors opinion.
